Resistance Training combined with aerobic exercise are both beneficial when added together at controlling type 2 diabetes. Four study groups were used. The exercise group combining aerobic and resistance training far outweighed the benefits of any of the other groups. HbA1C levels dropped significantly as well.

Cord Blood and Diabetes

New Hope for children with type 1 diabetes may lie in cord blood. Researchers found that cord blood infusions decrease the need for insulin. It is thought that stem cells in the blood prevent pancreas from destroying insulin producing cells. Researchers hope that infusing type 1 diabetic infants with their own umbilical cord blood will eventually become standard treatment.
