Cardiovascular Issues of ADHD Medications

Recently there has been controversy over the use of ADHD medications, specifically in children. Side-effects of these medications include increases in blood pressure, heart rate and other potential cardiovascular risks. Patients with known cardiovascular structural abnormalities or who have family histories of cardiac events should not take stimulant drugs associated with treatment of ADHD according to the FDA.
