Maryland Sr. HIM Coder - Outpatient 16454BX
Maryland hospital seeks a Sr. HIM Coder for its outpatient services. The candidate should be able to perform diagnostic and procedural coding of all ambulatory and emergency service diagnoses and conditions. Classification systems include ICD-9-CM and CPT-4, for the purpose of data collection, research, regulatory compliance and financial reimbursement in accordance with national and hospital specific coding guidelines.
The incumbent will maintain daily workflow and applicable productivity and quality standards. Qualifications include: certifications from the American Health Information Management Association AHIMA as either a RHIA or RHIT preferred. Certified Coding Specialist CCSis required within 3 years of hire. Must have a minimum of 5 years recent outpatient coding experience in an acute care setting, in addition to experience with a variety of health information functions such as documentation and billing requirements, and workflow. Salary is from 38K to 57K, depending on experience.
