Candidate views on Healthcare

Posted January 17th, 2008 by Brent Stanley

Healthcare views from the Presidential Candidates. I was doing some research last night on the Political views of the Presidential candidates. While I am not an advocate for a particular candidate, I did find this information resourceful for Medical and Healthcare Professionals. This link, which is provided by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, provides a side by side comparison and quick overview of what the Presidential Candidates are planning for Healthcare Reform.

The internet has enabled us to have the opportunity to know more then ever before and the subject of Healthcare seems to be one of the hottest political topics. The problem with the internet is that it oftentimes leads to information overload and wasted time. It is very easy to type a keyword into a search engine which then pulls up millions of sites that are relevant to your search. You then spend a significant amount of time trying to determine which site is most relevant for what you are looking for.

When searching online, whether for Political or Medical information, I do recommend that you consider the source. Quite a few sites only print the information that is pertinent to their cause and may not include all of the facts about a particular subject. Other sites are filled with advertisements that make it very difficult to find what you are looking for.

While you are searching, always ask:

  1. 1. Is this site reputable?
  2. 2. Are they experts about the subject matter?
  3. 3. What are the intentions and motives of the site?

The next President of the United States will try to reform Healthcare in one form or fashion and this will directly affect your career. With that being said, I do think that you should perform your due diligence and research what the candidates are planning.
