Business planning for new venture

Posted January 23rd, 2008 by Philip Reece

Business Plan writing for Nurses A decent business plan will take great care, planning and deliberation. However, a business plan that will convince somebody to support you will also take flair, originality and perfectly tailored delivery.

Business plans, by necessity, must follow a fairly standard format;

  • Executive summary
  • Background and purpose
  • Market analysis
  • Product/Service description
  • Marketing
  • Financial
  • Organization structure
  • Ownership
  • Risk and competition
  • Conclusion
  • Appendices giving the details

You then have to add the magic ingredient, and you are the only one that knows what this is. Working with a good broker or Business coach can help you identify and develop it, but it has to be there. I have seen a lot of business plans and many of them where great ideas expressed badly and never received funding while some where terrible ideas expressed marvelously that received funding.

So in answer to “how do I write a business plan?”, You could follow the above headings, download a template or purchase a business how to manual. But like many things in life, if you want it done right then you need to seek out a professional. Typically, to have a Professional check and polish the finished version it will cost around $500.00 or if you chose to work with them step by step it will cost ($1,500 to $10,000).
